With Gaudí’s permission Nature is the result of the creative energy of life. Of course it has its science, but transcends it to offer us beauty, magic and imagination. Gaudí united science and art, and was so inspired by nature that he even captured in his stones the movement of the waves. As decorative motifs, he used imaginary creatures and real ones as well, but no less attractive, like tortoises, lizards, birds, dragonflies. This is my point of contact with the brilliant artist. Surprisingly, we share the way to understand the living forms. This exhibition shows my particular view to interpret the animals that also inspired Gaudí and which now decorate the Temple of the Sagrada Família. Most of them are sculpted on the capitals of the columns, on the lintels of the doors and other architectural elements. Often, as in real life, they go unnoticed before our eyes. Discovering them is an exercise of observation and talent. This exhibition’s goal is to show the beauty of their shapes, merging from the stone. With Gaudí’s permission, my sculptures have been temporarily installed in this space. Welcome to the hidden magic of life. Miquel Aparici sculptor
